About Black Youth Leading with Knowledge
Black Youth Leading with Knowledge (BLK) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Black youth through comprehensive education, mentorship, and leadership development programs. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to embrace their identity, explore their rich history, and develop the confidence needed to become a leader in their community. Our mission is to create transformative experiences that inspire Black youth to recognize their potential and take action toward positive change.
We foster safe, inclusive spaces where young people can grow, learn, and thrive. Through our evidence-based programs and dedicated mentors, we equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and support systems necessary to navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, and become agents of change. BLK is committed to breaking barriers and creating pathways to success for Black youth, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to lead with purpose and impact.
Our Programs and Services
Leadership Development
Leadership development experiences that help youth build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills, and explore civic engagement. Through collaborative learning and youth-led activities, participants are encouraged to lead initiatives and contribute to positive change in their communities.
Peer-to-Peer Education
Youth-centered learning spaces where Black young people learn with and from one another. Through guided discussions, collaborative projects, and shared leadership experiences, participants exchange knowledge, build confidence, and develop critical thinking skills while strengthening their sense of identity and purpose.
Educational Enrichment and Cultural Exploration
Educational programs that celebrate Black history and culture while providing academic support, cultural awareness, and identity development opportunities that help youth embrace their heritage and excel academically.
